Pretty table, but a real pain to assemble
Once assembled the table looks real nice. I’m using it as a kitchen nook table. It’s not a full 40” as listed, but more like 39.5. The real difficulty was in assembling the table. For some reason the manufacturers stapled white rope all over the table to hold the stand box in place. It took me forever just to remove the rope, as I had to pry the staples up to get it out. I also couldn’t remove most of the staples and had to just hammer them down flat so they wouldn’t catch on anything (some also broke in the table). The way these were placed, I had to remove some of them, or the plate for the stand couldn’t go on flush. Some of the stapled portions really seemed like overkill too, with about 6-7 staples in some places. Seriously this was such a pain, and would have been a deal breaker for me if I hadn’t been so far into the assembly already. There are no predrilled holes on the tabletop itself, and I couldn’t get some of the screws to go all the way in. I also wasn’t expecting the table top to come in two pieces. There is a visible seam once assembled. It took me a couple hours to assemble this table, largely because of the staples and rope. I wouldn’t recommend this table based on that alone.
Assembly stinks
My husband put this together and it’s a pain to attach the base. Terrible instructions. So we just made it up how we attached the base. No holes, so you just have to figure it out. Took several hours. Other than that it’s a nice table for how cheap it was. You get what you pay for.
