I'm a professional surfing videographer, so my umbrella travels with me from context to contest, in a ski bag for easy carrying. I use the cantilever design so that I can pan my camera a full 270 degrees without running into the mast. I've gone through two other similar umbrellas [different brand] over the past two decades... one broke in 20 MPH winds, and the other I just retired due to rust from exposure to a decade of salt spray. I couldn't find that same umbrella to replace it with, so I bought this new one for $30 less than I paid for my other ones. I just returned home from my first 10-day contest using this new umbrella, and I am more than happy with it. This umbrella is built sturdier and better than my others. The metal pieces are thicker and better designed, and the umbrella material is thicker and better crafted. It does weigh a little more, but that's to be expected with its stronger design and build. It withstood 10 days of 10-15 MPH winds, with gusts up to 20 MPH; but, do keep in mind that I strap down my umbrella's mast and boom down to keep the umbrella from twisting in high winds (see photos). I'm sure it would survive 5-10 MPH winds without any additional support at all. I secured the umbrella's base to my tower using eight stainless steel wood screws, so it wasn't going anywhere. Even with the beating that it took, it showed no signs of bending or damage. I think I'm going to have this umbrella for a long, long time. One feature that is different than my previous umbrella is that this umbrella goes up with one movement. Just slide the locking boom joint up, and the umbrella deploys to fully open. With my old umbrella, I had to slide the boom up, tighten it down, then crank the handle until a rope pulled the main frame up, and then the umbrella deployed. Even then, the boom never stayed put, and the canvas never stayed tight. And the rope eventually broke. But this umbrella stays up and tight with one easy motion. The only feature this umbrella lacks is the ability to angle the canopy, for early morning or late afternoon sun on the horizon. If that's not important to you, then this is the cantilever umbrella for you. This is definitely the best 140-or-so dollars I've ever spent.
I like how this umbrella really big and it block the Sun from our chair area. I also really like how this umbrella’s is really easy to set up by yourself.
I love it! It gives off modern vibes to my backyard, and I also like the color! In addition, the quantity is fair and acceptable. Not cheap nor expensive. It provides a fair amount of shade, too! If anyone is looking for a good umbrella for your typical backyard pool, I would recommend this.
It’s very high quality, sturdy, assembly was simple enough,I just put couple bags of sand on the base, it’s very sturdy! I saw the same size umbrella in another store cost around 200, this is such good deal
Purchased it to replace the old broken one , having it for a while now, pretty satisfied so far. It's easy to operate for small adults as well. The structure is durable for the price, weight base is highly recommended. It covers my patio furniture lots . And it holds up pretty well in the rainstorm we had in the area couple days ago. Overall, it's a great value for the money.
