This desk was the cheapest I could find that had drawers and could double as a vanity when I buy a seperate mirror. No way am I paying over 100 for a tiny glorified TV tray. Anyway, the directions said it would take 2 hours with 2 people to build it and it really did even with power tools. It just has a lot of parts. The 'wood' is not the greatest and one peice came with a little corner halfway crumbling off. Thankfully it was a peice that wouldn't show, but the wood is easily dented overall. There were 2 Allen wrenches included which was nice, one was thicker for the bolts and one had a screwdriver tip! ...Except... the tool had the screw tip on the longer part of the L and the short part of the L just is not big enough to give you any leverage to turn anything unless you have baby sized hands. I recommend getting out the power drill or regular screwdriver because that thing was awful to handle. The drawers are also supposed to just float there without a rail I guess because they have you put these fuzzy stickers on the bottom and sides to have them slide. It was impossible to tell from the directions which sticker was which so learn from my mistake: PUT THE THICKER FUZZY STRIP ON THE SIDES OR THE DRAWER WILL BE TOO TALL TO SHUT PROPERLY. Other than that the metal legs of the desk made me worry it was miscut because of the angle of the end of the bar, but that's how it is supposed to be I guess because it fit ok in the end. After the desk was done I could see the potential for vast improvement with some modding. There is a good gap/ledge behind the desk that could hide/hold a lot of cable management, a whole power strip, LED light bars etc and probably all at the same time. You could easily make holes through the back and top for charging. I'm considering buying some contact paper to give the desk surface more protection and waterproof it. You could also get hooks for the side to hang headphones or a face towel or something. I still have to find if there are rails out there that would be less than a quarter inch thick because I hate the way the drawers are with this desk.
First off, the instructions were very difficult to read and understand. The only way I was able to start building, was when I stopped looking at the instructions and just did it on my own. The bar that goes across the legs in order to stabilize the desk, is completely the wrong size. There is no way that it fits. You can leave the desk without that stabilizing bar, which is what I did, but it’s not stable and it moves a lot.
