I bought to use in a non working gas fire place. It was exactly what was needed. Heated the room well and added a small touch of ambiance. Would recommend. Points for the remote too!
Q&A
- Q:I understand that it's not recommended to not use a power strip or an extension cord but.... I do not have any options at the moment because the heater has the cord coming out from the left side and the cord is only 6' long. It will not reach the closest electrical outlet. I did try using a power strip that has heavier gauge wire than what the heater unit uses. The power strip has 14 gauge and the heater has 16 gauge so I thought it might work but the power strip pops. What about the possibility of using a heavy gauge short extension cord.? I obviously don't want to do anything that could potentially be unsafe but at this point the heating unit is unusable which kind of sucks.
